I used the same card sketch for both my Citrus Blooms card (you can view the video tutorial here) and for my Stampin’ Up! Sketched Butterflies card. To my surprise, the Sketched Butterflies card received the most comments as the favorite! I was particularly surprised because the Full of Life 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper is bright and bold—stunning, but not the patterns you’d typically pair with an elegant butterfly stamp set. Yet, it works beautifully!

My DIY butterflies card began with a vision: placing a large Monarch butterfly at the center of colorful rays. I stamped the butterfly on a variegated pattern that perfectly coordinates with the rays. The intricate butterflies peeking out from behind the vibrant background add both a beautiful fill and a finishing touch.

My DIY Monarch butterfly card measurements are below. Here’ a picture to show you how I used the 5″ x 4″ Basic White Cardstock to die-cut the circle and intricate butterflies.
