Labor Day weekend may not be a traditional time for gift-giving, but it does mark a shift in seasons. As summer winds down and we begin looking toward fall birthdays and the winter holidays, it’s the perfect time to have a flexible gift card holder design ready to go. Today I’m sharing a Happy Hibiscus gift card holder created with all five of the 2025–2027 In Colors.
It’s bright, cheerful, and practical—and best of all, it showcases two discounted Last Chance products: the Happy Hibiscus Hybrid Embossing Folder and the Grow with Love Dies. Once the Grow with Love Dies are gone, so is this versatile project idea!

Project Details:
- The base of the holder was created with the Grow with Love Dies, giving it a seed-packet style shape that perfectly fits a standard gift card.
- I ran the Secret Sea Cardstock through the Happy Hibiscus Hybrid Embossing Folder to add rich, all-over floral texture that looks beautiful even before adding embellishments.
- For decoration, I used the same Hybrid Embossing Folder with the dies to emboss and die-cut the hibiscus bloom and smaller flowers, layering them in the 2025–2027 In Colors for a bright finish.
- A simple twine wrap with button-style closures keeps the gift card secure inside while adding a handmade, finished touch.
- The sentiment tag was tied onto the bow, stamped with “God bless,” and accented with an In Color embellishment for sparkle and dimension.
If you’d like to see even more ways to use the Happy Hibiscus Hybrid Embossing Folder, don’t miss my Rainbow Hibiscus Card tutorial. In that post, I show you how to use the folder to emboss only as well as how to emboss and die-cut in one pass. Between that card and today’s gift card holder, you’ll have a full toolkit of ideas for making the most of this Last Chance product.
Want another flexible way to package a gift card? Be sure to check out my Grow with Love tutorial, where I share how to create a seed packet-style gift card holder. It’s a different design, but also uses the Grow with Love Dies—a Last Chance product that won’t be restocked once it’s gone. Between today’s hibiscus holder and the seed packet version, you’ll be set for birthdays, holidays, and beyond.
