FebruaryThanks for returning to see more of the 6" x 6" Desktop Calendar pages!

Instead of grabbing the usual red or pink for Valentine’s Day, I used Rose Red and Chocolate Chip.  The colors give the page an elegant look.  Click on the picture for a larger view.

The hearts are chipboard from the On Board Upper Simon.  I covered the hearts with Rose Red Prints Designer Series Paper.  The same Designer Series Paper is used as a border along the bottom of the page.  I then added some Chocolate Chip wide satin ribbon from the Theater Ribbon Originals.

After playing around with various pieces of On Board chipboard, the Anywhere Glue Stick is my hands down favorite for attaching Designer Series Paper or card stock.  Spread the Anywhere Glue Stick across the chipboard instead of the paper.  Because the chipboard is raised up off of your table, there is no glue mess to clean up.

Here is another chipboard tip:  Are you like me and like the edges of the chipboard colored to match your ink, Designer Series Paper or card stock?  I found the perfect item to fill in even the tightest crevices – the Fantastix.

Fantastix_demo The Fantastix comes in two styles – Brush Tip and Bullet Tip.  Pictured here is the Brush Tip.  I brushed the tip of the Fantastix across my Rose Red Classic Pad and easily colored the edges.  It gave the hearts a nice finished look and saved my Rose Red Stampin’ Write Marker from unnecessary wear and tear.
