Did I mention all the 6" x 6" calendar pages I have been posting are all designed to fit a 3-1/2" x 5" photo? In Reed City, Michigan you can take your negatives or CD to Pattie Drug and they will be do a great job reducing your photos to the above size.
The shamrock was created from stamping the heart from Sweet Shapes stamp set three times. The stem was a stroke of creative genius. Okay, that my be stretching it just a bit, but I was thrilled when the idea came to me and it worked. I used the question mark from Best Friends Alphabet Upper masking off with Scotch tape the portion I did not wish to use. The exclamation point from Best Friends Alphabet Lower would have worked easier without the need to mask, but I did not own it then. Besides, I am now rather fond of the curve in the stem created from the question mark stamp.
I found it to be easiest to first stamp the stem and then stamp the hearts to create the shamrock. It was was first stamped on Whisper White Card Stock, cut out and attached to the Square Metal Edge Tag. Even though it required a bit of cutting, it was immensely reduced the stress of getting the shamrock right the first, or most the second time, if stamping directly on the Metal Edge Tag. It is also popped off the tag with Stampin’ Dimensionals for even more dimension added to the page.
The card stock colors are Certainly Celery (my favorite), Wild Wasabi and Whisper White. The pretty paper is from Flowers for You Designer Series Paper. The ink used was Wild Wasabi Classic Ink. Define Your Life was also used for the definition of lucky.
Keep an eye on my site as I will continue to post the remaining pages of my calendar.
