Driving around our neck of the woods in Michigan this time of the year, you see mood-brightening sunflowers all around. They are so beautiful and majestic. And, I have the perfect pot of sunflowers stamp in my A Flower for All Seasons stamp set for my September CD calendar.
To enhance the country feel the terra cotta pot of sunflowers, I used my Sizzix Texture Plates Kit #4 Texturz Plates to emboss the checker background. And, while playing with my Big Shot die-cutting machine, I used the Buttons #5 Sizzlit for a sweet accent. Because buttons need some sort of material, I threaded my card stock button (doesn't look like it, does it?) with Linen Thread.
The potted sunflower image was watercolored in a snap with Really Rust (pot), Summer Sun (flower), Ruby Red (lady bug), Old Olive (leaves) and Close to Cocoa (center of sunflower and shadow) and my Aqua Painter.
Everything I used to create my calendar is found in the Stampin' Up! 2009-2010 Idea Book & Catalog and can be ordered on my Stampin' Up! website by following the link www.stampinsmiles.stampinup.net. One stop shopping! You just have to love that. I know I appreciate the convenience of it.
