How to Easily and Inexpensively Turn Wood Mount Stamps into Clear Mount Stamps

Do you love a stamp set that is only available in wood mount? What if I told you it can easily and inexpensively be turned into a clear mount? It can! And, I am going to tell you how.

There are two products you will need before you can turn your wood mount stamps into clear mount stamps: clear vinyl and a Black StazOn Ink Pad. Both are easy to get. I purchased my vinyl at Walmart in the fabric section. You will find it on a roll. I used both the medium and heavy weight vinyl. Both worked equally well.

If you are like me, and like the image on the opposite side of the stamp for easy identification, stamp the image with Black StazOn Ink on the vinyl. StazOn ink will dry on the non-porous vinyl surface. It did not take long to dry.

Cut the image off the strip of vinyl. Be sure to leave plenty of extra around the image. You will want the vinyl to completely cover the back of the stamp.

Peel the paper backing off the wood mount stamp. The vinyl will stick to the adhesive intended for the wood mount.

Now trim the vinyl down to the size of the stamp.

There you have it. Wood mount stamps easily and very inexpensively turned into clear mount stamps!
