Earlier I shared with you my candy cane project using the Candy Cane Christmas rub-ons. It was such a cute idea, I decided to make several for my craft show booth.
Making several with the Candy Cane Christmas rub-ons was not a good option with the only two of the rub-ons I used per package. I also wanted to have several different images but all still coordinating so my display would look nice. Unless you are a new reader, you know how much I love coordination.
Ideally, I would have loved to have used Jolly Jingle Bits from the 2010 Stampin' Up! Holiday Mini Catalog. But, with only two days notice to prepare for the craft show, I started looking for other stamp sets to use. A dear friend suggested the Deer Friends stamp set. Look how cute my decorated candy canes turned out!
Again, because I love matchy-matchy, I only used three different colors in different combinations: Real Red, Garden Green and Chocolate Chip.
My husband drilled, sanded and stained a piece of wood for my display. If I hadn't been in such a hurry, I would have suggested the back row of holes be offset from the first row. But, considering the rush job, my display turned out quite pleasing to the eye.
The decorated candy canes would work well as a little give away or as part of the gift wrapping on a package. My girlfriend wants to decorate her Christmas tree with them. Cute idea.
