You've seen a ship in a bottle sealed with a cork, but what about a sailboat on cork?  Wanting to play with my new Cork Sheets in my Sizzix Big Shot, I thought the two (cork and sailboat) would make a great pair in my card making.

I die-cut the Cork Sheets with my Sizzix Big Shot and 3" Circle Originals Die.  It cut through like butter.  I layered the 3" cork circle onto a 3-1/2" Basic Black card stock circle die-cut with the exclusive, as is the 3",  Stampin' Up! 3-1/2" Circle Originals Die.  I used Mini Glue Dots to adhere the cork circle to the black card stock circle.  Just because they are hand made cards, it doesn't mean you can't use tools to make it quicker and fun.

If you have stamped on the Cork Sheets before with Classic Ink Pads, you may be wondering how my Sail Away stamped image is such a nice deep color.  To achieve this look, I used the Basic Black Craft Stampin' Pad.  The pigment ink is thicker than the dye based Classic Pad ink.  It did take longer to dry, but the results made it worth the wait.

The background is the Sanded background stamp, now on the Stampin' Up! Last Chance, retiring,  List.  It will be available for sale only until June 30, 2011.

You can view all the Last Chance, or retiring, Stampin' Up! stamp sets on yesterday's blog post.

If you would like to use the Sanded backgroud stamp in your card making and do not already own it, you can purchase in my online store.  But, you only have until June 30, 2011 to do so!  Then it will retire forever.
