Last week we had the first Halloween scrapbook pages. This week we jump ahead to Patrick's first Christmas. There is no rule you have to do your scrapbook pages in chronological order. When you are facing large piles of pictures like Marsha, I think it would be natural to start with the events that are the easiest to identify. Especially when looking back nearly 40 years.
Creating scrapbook pages in any order you see fit is easy with scrapbook albums from Stampin' Up! Unlike some scrapbook albums I have seen where the pages are fixed, with Stampin' Up! scrapbook albums you can easily move the pages around. You can either move a page from its page protector or move the page protector with it.
So, you simply create pages, slip them into a page protector for, well, protection, and store them in the album until you are ready to put them in the order you desire. If I purchased an album where the pages are fixed, I think I would have a stroke worrying it I had all the pages in the right order. Or, heaven forbid, you find other pictures you would like to add to the album but have already gone past that time in the scrapbook.
Marsha must be using albums with movable pages. Let's have a look at the next scrapbook page layout in Marsha's journey.
Patrick is definitely the "star" of the day preserved on the scrapbook pages for him to look back on and pass down to his children one day.
Marsha's background resembles brick. While green brick is not traditional color, it coordinates well with the retro looking background paper she used to mat all of her photos.
With the orange accent color in the retro background paper, I like her choice of keeping the ornaments in shades of green too. Red would have clashed and orange Christmas tree ornaments would have looked odd. Well, to me anyway. You may disagree.
The Christmas ornaments are from the Stampin' Up! Tree Trimmings stamp set. Tree Trimmings is available to order until at least May 31, 2012. I don't have a crystal ball, but I am expecting to see it on the Last Chance List due out by May 1, 2012.
I will be surprised if it isn't on the Last Chance Stamp Sets List. I really thought it would have been on it last year. I've been wrong before and will be wrong again guessing at which stamp sets will retire and which ones will not.
