Need a last minute Father’s Day card idea? Thought about using a new stamp set from the 2012-2013 Stampin’ Up! Catalog, but then realized that might not be of much help.
What stamp set do most Stampin’ Up! stampers own? That would work beautifully for a masculine greeting card? Lovely as a Tree! It is as beautiful as timeless.
For my last minute Father’s Day card, I chose the majestic oak tree. What a great symbol of fatherhood – strong, sheltering, a gift from God.
Do you not just love the masculine look of the Houndstooth Embossing Folder? So quick to run it through your Big Shot. Again, this is most likely a Stampin’ Up! product you have on hand from last year’s catalog.
The new Gumball Green In Color is just perfect for a lively tree. Where has this color been my stamping life? If you have not yet purchased the new 2012-2014 In Colors (what are you waiting for?!), Garden Green would look nice too for watercoloring the oak tree.
The tree trunk was watercolored with Soft Suede Classic Ink. The grass had a little Summer Starfruit Classic Ink mixed in to coordinate with the tree but not be an exact match.
Also available for a couple of years is the virtually-every-occasion-you-can-think-of stamp set Teeny Tiny Wishes. Now I could not resist using my new Bitty Banners Framelits Die. Looks more masculine than the Modern Label Punch. But, the Modern Label Punch would like fine too.
The circles were die-cut with the 3″ Originals Circle Die and 3-1/2″ Originals Circle Die. The Sizzix Big Shot Die-Cut Machine, coordinating dies and folder truly made this a quick card to make. That included my design time. Imagine how quickly you can make it with the design already done!
