Stampin' Up! Make a Cake stamp set hand-made feminine birthday card for a dear friend.
Until this hand-stamped birthday card, my other cards (one for my Hassle Free Cards subscription service and the other for the Stamping Smiles Virtual Stamp Club) were more whimsical. For this special gal, a more elegant card was needed. I think she will very much like the new In Color Primrose Petals Card Stock, Classic Stampin' Pad and 3/8" Satin Stitched Ribbon used to make her birthday card.
Can you see the embossed image? It was made with the new Apothecary Accents Framelits Die. The paper piercing was done with the aid of the new Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack. It includes templates that coordinate with many Stampin' Up! punches and the Apothecary Accents Framelits Dies. Now we can get a perfectly spaced holes for that great look paper-piercing provides!
The new paper-piercing templates outline the outside and inside of the punch or Framelit with only one exception, the Scallop Oval Punch. Are you excited to start paper-piercing with precision too?!
Just had to give you a close-up view of the Primrose Petals 3/8" Satin Stitched Ribbon. It feels as pretty as it looks. So soft yet enough body to tie into a pretty bow.
Another hand made card idea with the new Itty Bitty Banners stamp set and new Bitty Banners Framelits. The outlined banners are attractive and easy to add to a card. We like good looking and easy card making.
A quick look at the other elements of my card. The polka dot three layer cake rests on a polka dot embossed background made with the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder run through the Sizzix Big Shot Die-Cut Machine. You just have to love how quickly you can create a texture with the Big Shot and an embossing folder. Sure adds a lot to our card making.
Did you notice the small piece of background paper along the right side. It is one of the borders included in the Patio Party Designer Series Paper. It is an interesting mix of whimsical cupcakes and banners and elegant flower print, butterflies and borders. It suits the flexibility of the Make a Cake stamp set well.
