It's almost time for back to school with Stampin' Up! Greeting Card Kids stamp set. The Greeting Card Kids stamp set is a great set of four stamps covering four different occasions: back to school, Halloween, Christmas and Valentine's Day.
But, for now back to school is on the minds of many mothers busy gathering new clothes and school supplies and children not wanting summer to end.

Interestingly, the Orchard Harvest Designer Series Paper does not have a coordinating neutral color, such as Whisper White or Very Vanilla list. This was a great opportunity to use Ivory Naturals Card Stock. The color coordinates beautifully with the vintage stamp set and distressed background paper.
This hand made greeting card has a window peeking through to a die-cut apple. The apple stamp is one of the many stamps included in the Perfectly Preserved stamp set from the 2012 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog. It was die-cut with the coordinating Cannery Set Framelits Dies. Also the apple stem and leaves. The apple die was used in the Sizzix Big Shot Die-Cut Machine to die-cut the window in the bottom front of the card too.
The apple from the Perfectly Preserved stamp set also coordinates with the Orchard Harvest Designer Series Paper also found in the 2012 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog. The background paper coordinates with the stamp set as well as our little girl's socks match her dress.
Adding some color coordinated embellishments was fun. Did you notice the distressed card stock matting behind the children? It is the new Early Espresso Core'dinations Card Stock. When distressed, you get to see the color under the surface. This is very different for Stampin' Up! This is an exception to the regular line of card stock in which the color goes through every layer.
For good measure, a More Mustard button from the Regals Designer Buttons with a bit of Linen Thread was added.
Put all the elements together for a nostalgic back-to-school greeting card. Is the card to welcome a teacher to her first job? Or perhaps a mother dealing with mixed emotions watching her children go off to a new year of school knowing they will be grown in a blink of an eye?
