Are you impressed with how incredibly well I was able to leave a nearly perfect border when I cut the leaves out? Don't be. They were die-cut in my Sizzix Big Shot Die-Cut Machine with the coordinating Autumn Accents Bigz Die.
The whimsical "thank you" is from the new Sassy Salutations stamp set. Don't you just love a variety of greetings in varying styles and sizes? It allows you to choose your greeting to match the mood of your handmade cards. My cardmaking motto is you cannot have too many words or flower stamp sets.
Not wanting the autumn delight to end when the card is opened, I stamped the oak leaf in More Mustard after stamping it on my grip paper to less the color of the image. Unless you wish to write around the large leaf, the color needs to be light enough to be able to read the writing on it. This is called stamping off. The stamping off technique is great to way to have a coordinating color without needing a stamp pad of an additional color.
Did you notice the litte added touch of the 3-1/2" Crumb Cake Scalloped Tulle Ribbon? You almost feel like it should be gathered, but it looks quite nice laying flat as an accent.
If you first hesitated about this stamp set, I have to admit I did too. I absolutely love leaves but it took a bit of time to understand what great projects could be created with the mix of plaid, polka dots, orint, etc.
