Not every wanting another Embosslits Die in not-great-shape to sacrifice to an experiment, like yesterday's post, I am going to give you a quick lesson on how to run an Embosslits Die through a Sizzix Big Shop Die-Cut Machine.

Okay, there is just no polite way to say it, but to be blunt and say I have neatness "issues".  Because so, I have a strongy tendency to want straight lines.  Following my natural state, I was running my Wonderful Wings Embosslits Die through the Big Shot with the hinge parallel with the roller press.

Wrong way

While it is neatly arranged, apparantley not the best idea in the world.  My Embosslits Die started to crack around the hinges.   Called Stampin' Up!  I was asked how I ran it through the Big Shot.  I dunno.  Who pays attention to something like that?  When questioned further to what direction the hinges were in to the roller press of the Big Shot, I immediately realized I was surely squaring it up.  Keeping it neat and tidy, after all.

Well, I was told, it was recommended the hinges be perpendicular to the roller press.  Then the 3000 pounds of pressure the Big Shot applies would not hit the hinges all at one time.  Made sense.

Ever since that conversation, I have been squaring the hinges up to the side.  That is a nice straight line to satisfy my "issues".  :)  No more problems with cracked hinges either.

So, remember next time you use an Embosslits Die, keep the hinges perpendicular to the roller press to have it to use and enjoy for years.
