A stamping friend stopped by today to choose her colors for a card she wanted to make. She had receive a card with a splash of color with a stamped greeting in the center. We set out to design a similar card using Stampin’ Up! products. Before she arrived, she knew she wanted to use the Stampin’ Up! Sassy Salutations stamp set. The boldness of the font is perfect for a quick & easy handmade thank you card.

Use an Aqua Painter and your choice of a light color ink. The choice of color today was So Saffron Classic Stampin’ Pad ink. You press on the lid to transfer some ink onto it. You then use your Aqua Painter to pick some color and brush across the 3-1/2″ x 4-3/4″ Whisper White Card Stock. Let dry.
After it is dry, stamp in a bold color of choice. The color you see stamp here is Bermuda Bay Classic Stampin’ Pad ink. The font for the Stampin’ Up! Sassy Salutations stamp set is a good match for this look.
The Whisper White Card Stock will warp when it gets this wet. She tried Watercolor Paper but preferred the look of the Whisper White Card Stock. Watercolor paper is designed to blend colors and not warp like the Whisper White Card Stock will. So, to compensate for the warping, we stamped used a smaller piece of white card stock and then used Stampin’ Dimensionals. The warping will not be as obvious compared to adhering it flat to the 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ folded card stock base. The secret, though, is to generously use Stampin’ Dimensionals to give it support around the edges and in the center.
