How crazy are you for the port hole? Stinkin’ clever I say! After enjoying Pat’s card, I sat back and started visually tearing it apart. The beauty of Pat’s card is that it is easy to make. That makes the card all the better.
The port hole is Brushed Silver Card Stock die-cut with the new Circles Collection Framelits Dies in the Sizzix Big Shot Die-Cut Machine. Pat’s latch is one of the silver Basic Glimmer Brads. The bolts are the 1/8″ Silver Mini Brads.
The port hole is covered with a circle die-cut from a Window Sheet. That is important because you have to keep the sea water outside where it belongs. What a great touch that is.
Did you notice the decorative paper at the bottom? Pat had just received her Stamping Smiles 2013 Stampin’ Up! Catalog Paper & Ribbon Share. The paper is from the Venetian Romance Designer Series Paper. Interestingly, it is what inspired this card. Having a generous portion of all the new papers has a way of doing that.
Seeing it open makes you love it even more. The port hole is truly a window! It was also die-cut with one of the Circle Collection Framelits Dies. Did I not say this was a clever card?
Like the pretty script font for the birthday greeting? It is from the Stampin’ Up! Blooming with Kindness stamp set. The elegance of the font is equal to that of the ship.
