The new Stampin’ Up! Giggle Greetings Stamp Set will make you giggle with the funny sayings to go with the equally cute images. It is the one stamp set new to the 2013-2014 Stampin’ Up! Catalog that everyone points at a laughs, or should we say, giggle. You can easily use the “you did it! now, go chase your dream . . . or your tail or whatever . . .” stamp for a fun and out-of-the-ordinary handmade graduation card.
This handmade card is seriously easy to make. The dog stamp was simply stamped with Chocolate Chip Classic Stampin’ Pad in on 2-1/2″ x 2-1/2″ Whisper White Card Stock. The only coloring was to give a touch of Real Red Classic Stampin’ Pad ink with an Aqua Painter for the tongue. That’s it. Nothing more. Now you just have to love that.
The attractiveness of this card is most definitely because of the other elements that were added. The red with white polka dots paper is from the Polka Dot Parade Designer Series Paper. It measures 2-7/8″ x 3″. The same with the Chocolate Chip Card Stock.
Here you see a Whisper White Candy Dot. At the top a Chocolate Chip. Both are from the Neutrals Candy Dots. So quick and easy to add a nice touch, a splash of contrasting or coordinating color with the self-adhesive dots. It is one of those accessories that everyone should have on hand of every Stampin’ Up! Color Collection.
In the brown area under the dog and above the Whisper White Candy Dot, it was looking too bare. A quick fix was to add a bow made of the 1/4″ Real Red Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon. The white of the stitching is a good contrast from the polka dots of the paper, the spots on the dog and the Candy Dots.
Graduation or congrats cards may not be on your mind right now. The dog stamp on this handmade card is just one of the four stamps in this set. There are a couple that are great to give a friend a giggle on her birthday. With one stamp set, you will be able to make and send a card this year and next.
