Use Washi Tape to make a fast & fun note card

Have you ever used Washi Tape? It is a rather new experience for me, and I am loving it! Looking at my hand made note card, you can see it was fast & fun to make with the Stampin’ Up! Gingham Garden Washi Tape and Sweet Essentials stamp set.

It was fun criss-crossing the Gingham Garden Washi Tape to see one pattern show through another. The secret? Just for it. Have fun. Looking at the picture, I think I would prefer my handmade note card if I had left off the flower row of Washi Tape on the right corner. What do you think?

The note card came cut to size, scored and with the right size envelopes for a perfect fit (do not care for a card in an ill-fitting envelope, surprising since I seem to have so few “issues”. ha!) from the Whisper White Note Cards & Envelopes. You get 20 of each for only $5.95. Add some Washi Tape and think how fast you could whip out some note cards for you or for a gift.

Speaking of the envelope, did you see the row of Gingham Garden Washi Tape on it? The adhesive is strong enough to tear the card stock when I tried to remove it. So, I am expecting it to go through the mail well. I mailed this card off after taking an extra moment to run my finger over the tape for a secure hold. Did not hear how it faired going through the mail on the other end. The Post Office Police have not taken me away for clogging up their machine. So, I am assuming it did well.

The “thinking of you” with its sweet font is from the Stampin’ Up! Sweet Essentials stamp set. The long row of words were the perfect fit for my Gingham Garden Washi Tape note card.

We’ve talked about how your greeting font style should match the feel of your card. If your card is whimsical, then you want to pick a greeting stamp set with a whimsical, fun or clean style font. The Sassy Salutations is a good example.
