My upline sent this simple Stampin’ Up! Tape It card to congratulate me for being in the top 20 of all her downline in sales for May. Instead of writing about how I can help you also have top sales when you join Stampin’ Up! and start your own stamping business with me, I knew I had to use her handmade card to talk about the Stampin’ Up! Basic Black Classic Stampin’ Pads.
Before we get into that, let’s have a quick look at the Washi Tape stamps she used for my Tape It card. Look at the imperfect ends of the tape stamps. Looks like you just torn it off the roll. I bet someone would have to touch it to see if it is tape or if it was stamped. “Is it live or is it Memorex?” That is for those over 30. 🙂
Her choice of colors are all from the 2013-2015 In Colors. The top Washi Tape was stamped with Coastal Cabana Classic Stampin’ Pad ink, followed by Crisp Cantaloupe and Pistachio Pudding. Others have echoed my sentiment that this group of Stampin’ Up! In Colors is the best of them all. It is impossible to pick a favorite. That was never true before.
Now let’s address the Basic Black Classic Stampin’ Pad ink. See how it is smeared the “Thank You So Much stamp from the new Lots of Thanks stamp set? That was not on purpose. When Stampin’ Up! introduced the new firm foam pads last year, the Basic Black ink was reformulated along with six others (if my memory serves me). Only the Basic Black had issues with drying on Whisper White and Very Vanilla Card Stock. If you did not allow more than normal time for drying or if in a hurry failed to dry it on the first setting with the Heat Tool, this is what would happen.
In preparation to write this blog post, I called Stampin’ Up! yesterday to get an update on the Basic Black Classic Stampin’ Pads. The pads are now supposed to be fixed. They are sending my replacement pad. When I get mine, I will most certainly use it right away and let you know if it is improved. Sure hoping so.
