Leafing through a Better Homes & Gardens magazine, I spotted a color combination that I thought would be great to use with the Stampin’ Up! Six-Sided Sampler Stamp Set and the coordinating Hexagon Punch.
The colors of the wallets in the advertisement looked like a great Stampin’ Up! color combination. Can you name the colors?
Immediately I pulled out my Color Coach to see if I was right. They are close matches for Crushed Curry, Smoky Slate and Calypso Coral. Usually I use my Color Coach to see the interesting color combinations Stampin’ Up! put together. Then in cases like this, I use the large swatch of colors to see what select colors will look like together. A lot easier than pulling out all the different sheets of card stock.
Now let’s see the color combination in my Six-Sided Sampler card.
Two-thirds of the front of the card was embossed with the coordination Honeycomb Embossing Folder in the Sizzix Big Shot Die-Cut Machine. Doesn’t that add a nice decorative touch? It is so quick and easy to give your cards some added texture with embossing folders and the Big Shot.
The “thanks much” stamp is included with the Six-Sided Sampler Stamp Set. Thank goodness I did not have to try to hand cut the same border around each of the stamped hexagons. The Hexagon Punch made that easy as pie. You can save 15% when bundled with the Hexagon Punch.
The Crushed Curry was used as an accent color for the Smoky Slate and Calypso Coral. In the center of each of the gray striped hexagons is a Crushed Curry circle from the Regals Candy Dots. The Candy Dots in each of the four Stampin’ Up! Color Collections is my favorite new accessory to the 2013-2014 Stampin’ Up! Catalog. Add a touch of color anywhere on your papercrafts with these self-adhesive dots.
