The Chalk Talk Bundle (stamp set and coordinating Framelits at 15% off!) has been one of the most popular products my customers have ordered from the 2013-2014 Stampin’ Up! Catalog. One of the six stamps in this set will help you to make a handmade card to celebrate the big day for someone special. The big day could be a birthday, graduation, new job, retirement or any other occasions worth a celebration.
Godby (God-be) with Us Stamper MOLLY HINKEN is the creator of this handmade card. She stamped the “happy BIG day!” stamp on Very Vanilla Card Stock with Raspberry Ripple Classic Stampin’ Pad ink. She then was thrilled to have the Chalk Talk Framelits Dies and Big Shot Magnetic Platform to die-cut her stamped image. Die-cutting with the Framelits in the Sizzix Big Shot Die-Cut Machine save a lot of time trying to cut an even border. Not an easy task to do by hand especially with the curves. The Magnetic Platform is such a happy blessing to have in our arsenal of stamping supplies.
The rickrack trim was also made with the Big Shot Die-Cut Machine. It is one of the trims from the Tasteful Trim Bigz XL Die. After getting to play with it, Molly has added that to her wish list too.
Can’t say I would have ever put Crisp Cantaloupe and Raspberry Ripple together, but it sure works in the plaid pattern from the Birthday Basics Designer Series Paper. Now I might be tempted to try those colors together on another project. Wonder if they Color Coach pairs them up?
This was an easy, yet still attractive, handmade card to make. The Birthday Basics paper measures 3″ x 4-1/4″ adhered to the Raspberry folded size card base of 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ (scored in half at 4-1/4″).
