“He’s making a list and checking it twice . . . ”  is one of the greetings from the new Stampin’ Up! Santa’s List stamp set.  Stampin’ Up! will certainly be on his nice list.  They keep bringing wonderful new stampin’ toys to us throughout the year.  The Santa’s List stamp set is just one of many.

Santa’s coat is so detailed that it looked almost solid black when I stamped it.  I was seriously considering just giving him a wash in Crumb Cake Classic Stampin’ Pad ink and calling it vintage.  Before I knew it, I was watercoloring his coat in Cherry Cobbler Classic Stampin’ Pad ink (the striped designer paper had already been picked out before I started).  As you can see in the picture, the black was easily colored.   At least with a dark like Cherry Cobbler.

The shading on his beard, cuffs on his and  trim  on his hat were down with Crumb Cake Classic Stampin’ Pad ink.  His list with Soft Suede.  Crumb cake would have been my first choice, actually it was, but it did not have any contrast against the trim of his coat.  His face with Blushing Bride.

The bit of decoration added is Crumb Cake Card Stock die-cut with the new Stampin’ Up! Deco Labels Collection Framelits.  Just a bit of it peeking out from behind.  Like a child trying to get a peek at Santa putting gifts under the tree.

The touch of ribbon is a small piece of the limited-edition 1″ Cherry Cobbler Stitched Edge Grosgrain Ribbon from the Holiday Catalog.

The Cherry Cobbler striped paper is from the Stampin’ Up! Season of Style Designer Series Paper.  It looks like candy cane stripes.  How fitting for Santa Claus.
