Let’s start with the most obvious, the Stampin’ Up! Petal Parade Stamp Set. The Petal Parade Stamp Set 133602 is one of 13 FREE Sale-a-bration gifts with purchase during the 2014 Stampin’ Up! Sale-a-bration promotion.
The colors Bermuda Bay 131171, Calypso Coral 126983, Pistachio Pudding 131177 and Sahara Sand 126976 Classic Stampin’ Pad inks were all used to coordinate with the striped tag from the Sale-a-bration Twisty Treats Kit 133513. The striped tag was the starting point of my quick card. I have a whole bunch of them left over. The other nice thing of the colors is that they coordinate with the Sale-a-bration Good as Gold Card Kit 133512. I have a lot of Sahara Sand envelopes with gold envelope liners left over from the Good as Gold Kit. You will soon see why when I post my March thank you card.
Okay, we have listed all three 2014 Sale-a-bration gifts (each free with a $50 purchase in my online store) for my handmade card idea. Let’s look at a little more of the details.
The twist tie is from the Twisty Treats Kit. Cannot say that I have ever used a twist tie as I would ribbon on a tag, but there it is. Cute with the little white hearts. The Pistachio Pudding coordinates quite nicely and gives a bit of contrast against the Sahara Sand Card Stock 121043.
The little gold star is from the Good as Gold Card Kit. Had some of those left over too. When you do not use the kits to make the project designs shown, you can easily find yourself with some left overs to inspire new projects.
My striped tag was longer than I cared for a note card (3-1/2″ x 5″). I trimmed it to size. Do you recognize the punch shape? It is the Decorative Label Punch 120907. The “Life doesn’t have to perfect to be wonderful” stamp from the Stampin’ Up! Perfect Pennants Stamp Set (wood mount #133227 / clear mount #133230) was stamped with Basic Black Classic Stampin’ Pad 126980 ink on the striped tag. It was easy enough to read. But the more I looked at the card, the tag seemed to be swallowed up by the card.
So, I did the dog tags style and added a second tag. The Sahara Sand Card Stock 121043 stands out without being overbearing. The Basic Black Classic ink also shows up very well on it. The added bonus was how it would coordinate with those Sahara Sand Envelopes I wanted to use.
How about that gold star coordinating with the gold envelope liner? You would almost think that was planned. 🙂
