The Stampin’ Up! Four Feathers Stamp Set did tickle the fancy of a few demonstrators swapping at our Founder’s Circle retreat. The pretty Four Feathers card to the left is one of them. The stamper used the Emboss Resist Technique. That technique is always a wow especially when you see it done.
She embossed with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Whisper White Cardstock. After melting the embossing powder with the Heat Tool, she sponged on Pear Pizzazz and Lost Lagoon Classic Stampin’ Pad inks over the feathers. The white embossed feathers resisted the ink, meaning dye based inks will not dry on the glossy embossing. That lets the white stamped images stand out against the sponged in colors.
The two hanging feathers were stamped and then die-cut with the coordinating Feathers Framelits Dies. You could cut them out by hand, but how nice you can use the dies instead.
There are four different feathers in the Four Feathers Stamp Set but only two dies in the Feathers Framelits. All four of the feathers will fit one of the two dies. That made this an incredibly priced bundle at only $20.25 in clear mount or $22.75 in wood mount.
The “Thank You for Caring” stamp is just one of the many included in the Stampin’ Up! Lots of Thanks Stamp Set. Do you have a good thank you set? With the Lots of Thanks set, you have a nice variety of thank you greetings in various sizes and fonts. Do you find that you like to use a font that reflects not just the desired sentiment but also the style of the card? The elegance of the script of the “Thank You” and print “for caring” is quite a nice pairing.
Four Feathers Stamp Set is a limited-edition stamp set from the 2014 Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog. You certainly could use it for autumn and/or Thanksgiving cards. As you can see from this handmade card in the soft green and blue, it’s a stamp set you could use year round. Swap the greeting for a birthday one and have a great masculine birthday card. The guy cards tend to be a bit more difficult for us. One reason is there are simply less masculine stamp sets available. So, if you want a stamp set you could use with your fall cards and also for a year round masculine card, you have to love the low price for the bundle of stamp set and Framelits.
