The trees with the nativity scene in the Stampin’ Up! The Newborn King Stamp Set are not what you’d expect to see in a traditional nativity scene. And, frankly, I wasn’t crazy about them. Until this card! Isn’t it a fabulous handmade Christmas card?!
What floats one boat doesn’t necessarily float another. And thank goodness for our individual preferences. It makes the world a much more interesting place. I’m so glad someone from the Founder’s Circle swap purchased the set to make this card.
The nativity scene stamp was stamped in Mossy Meadow Classic Stampin’ Pad ink on Mossy Meadow Cardstock. Tone on tone is one of my favorite techniques. And it works so well for this card with the manger, baby Jesus, Mary and Joseph stamped on Whisper White Cardstock, watercolored and punched for a beautiful focal point.
The Gold Glimmer Paper is layered behind looks like a halo. Not sure if that was what was intended, but it sure looks nice.
If you liked The Newborn King Stamp Set right away or not, this is a pretty card. And if you’d like to make it, order The Newborn King and any of the other supplies you’ll need (listed below) in my online store www.shopwithshelly.com.
