Stampin' Up! Hey, Valentine Mini Treat Bag

When given the choice of which to play with first, the new Stampin’ Up! Hey, Valentine Stamp Set or new Mini Treat Bag Thinlits Dies, I decided to play with both! Both came together for a swimmingly cute Hey, Valentine Mini Treat Bag!

My favorite stamp in the Hey, Valentine Stamp Set is the school of fish. One is wearing glasses, another a ball cap and another has a bow and is holding a book. Sooo cute!

Because the fish stamp is sizeable, I decided to stamp right on the bag. If I stamped and layered on top if it, I was concerned how well the layer would stay, even with strong adhesive, once I filled the bag with the Russell Stover Strawberry Cream Heart.

The candy easily slid into the Mini Treat Bag. Quite pleased with how much you can put into one of the bags. With the description of “mini” I expected it would hold less. So happy I was wrong. 🙂

My bag is Whisper White Cardstock die-cut with the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits Dies in my Sizzix Big Shot. There are two dies to make a bag. It’s easy to figure out how to put them together. My adhesive of choice is Fast Fuse Adhesive. I find the strength comparable to Sticky Strip but better because it has an applicator.

The vibrant colors of my school of fish are from coloring with the much loved Stampin’ Blendabilities Markers. I started by coloring around and filling in between the fish with the Soft Sky Blendabilities Markers. I started there so I could select the other color that would not blend into my water. The plan worked out well.

See the sweet little die-cut hearts along the bottom? The are from one of the dies included with the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits Dies. Look closer.

I used the Pink Pirouette Blendabilites on the Pink Pirouette Cardstock to provide some shading. It was quick to do with a nice effect.

The die-cut “for you” in Pink Pirouette Cardstock was made from another die also included in the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits Dies. Punch a small hole with the 1/16″ Handheld Punch in the top of the “f” and string Whisper White Baker’s Twine through it. Wrap it around a few times around the top. How’s that for a sweet finishing touch?
