Stampin’ Up! Sheltering Tree for Spring

Of all the stamp sets that make my heart go pitter-patter in the 2015 Stampin’ Up! Occasions Catalog Painted Petals, Indescribable Gift, B.Y.O.P., Butterfly Basics, Moon Lake and others), the Stampin’ Up! Sheltering Tree Stamp Set made me catch my breath. Absolutely adore this stamp set!

Want a Spring card? Sheltering Tree. Want a Fall card? Sheltering Tree. Want a Winter card? Sheltering Tree? How about a Summer card? Sheltering Tree! Stampin’ Up! has already has four nice samples in the Occasions Catalog. But there’ll be no stopping us for going wild with more ideas.

Thankfully Sheltering Tree is a photopolymer (totally clear) stamp set. This made is so doggone easy to get just the right placement of the leaves on tree. I chose to keep this card simple but with the clear stamps it would have been easy to stamp just where I wanted when adding the swing, bike, hill or flowers.

Let’s talk about the pretty papers. The variegated yellow paper is one of the patterns from the Painted Blooms Designer Series Paper. Did you know all the patterns were hand-painted prints? Some are pretty enough to frame. And someone did! There’s a beautiful picture on page 18 of the Occasions Catalog.

How about that diagonal striped paper along the bottom? This is the coolest paper ever! It one of the patterns from the Sale-a-bration Irresistibly Yours Specialty Designer Series Paper. Each pattern is a white embossed image on white. Perfect for the embossing resist technique. What’s been embossed will resist, or not take, ink. I used an Aqua Painter and brushed Wild Wasabi and So Saffron in stripes going the opposite direction. The white stripes you see are the embossed images. The ink colored the un-embossed areas. Isn’t that pretty? Pretty cool!
