Today, Sunday, September 11, 2016 my church is Stampin' Up! Swirly Scribbles Flag Cardhosting a First Responders Sunday Patriot Day to honor all first responders. I was asked to make invitations for all the first responders’ stations in our town.

As we mark the fifteenth anniversary of that tragic day when 3,000 Americans lost their lives in a terrorist attack, we think of how first responders rushed to the scene to saves as many lives as they could while risking their own. So many lost their lives doing just that and others sacrificed their health. All while thinking of nothing but saving lives of people they didn’t know.

First responders do this EVERY day. It’s fitting that our church wants to honor our first responders will a special service and a meal for them and their guests. I’m humbled that I got to design and make the invitations.

My first thought after the “yes” was what would be the design? Patriotic was my first thought. How appropriate because they are all most definitely patriots. Then I remembered the American flag cards posted for Fourth of July using the Stampin’ Up! Swirly Scribbles Thinlits Dies. There were several versions of the idea. This is mine.
