How to punch through two sheets of cardstock

When you want to dress up your card with rounded corners, you grab your Project Life Corner Punch. But did you know that Stampin’ Up! punches, and, I expect, also from craft stores, are not designed to go through two sheets of cardstock? Stampin’ Up! said it, I believed it, but a customer didn’t. You guessed it, she broke my punch. Now we have proof. 🙂

Knowing that punches are not designed to go through two sheets of cardstock, when you want to punch through two layers of cardstock, punch the first layer, place it over the second. It will act as your guide to punch the second piece. Works beautifully.

But what do you do when you want to round the corners on the fold of your card? If you try to use your corner punch, it will most likely break it.

Really wanting rounded corners on the fold for a clean and simple card, I decided to see if my Envelope Punch Board could handle going through two sheets of cardstock.

It punched through as easily as going through one sheet. I’ve done this many times, and the punch of my Envelope Punch Board is still working well. I used the Envelope Punch Board to round all four corners of my Hey, Chick card I posted yesterday.
