As much as we wish it wasn’t so, we find ourselves in need of sympathy cards. With my easy and elegant Stampin’ Up! Definitely Dahlia sympathy card idea, you can make up several to have on hand should the occasion arise.
Stamping the dahlia with the same color ink as the cardstock makes for an elegant background for the “Sorry” stamp from the Stampin’ Up! Sorry for Everything Stamp Set. Approximately four years ago I made a sympathy card quite similar to this one. The “Sorry” stamp is considerably larger making it necessary to 5-1/2″ x 4-1/4″ instead of 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″. The “Sorry” is a nice and dark blue with the help of my MISTI. MISTI is a stamp positioning tool that allowed me to stamp several times in the same place for a deeper image than possible with just one inking.
That gorgeous ribbon is the new Pool Party 3/8″ Shimmer Ribbon. It has good body and tied into a pretty bow on the first try. That sure is a treat. Add a row of Pearl Basic Jewels for the finishing touch.
A handstamped sympathy card is what I had in mind, but with the Sorry for Everything Stamp Set, you can use the optional greetings to stamp on the inside and say sorry to see you go, sorry to hear you’re not feeling well, sorry I missed your birthday and more. It’s one of the sets that is a good idea to have as part of your stamping stash.
