Earlier this month, I made an elegant handmade pumpkin card with the Stampin’ Up! Pretty Pumpkins Stamp Set. As I was using the detailed pumpkin dies, I could hardly wait to design a greeting card with the three pumpkins stamp. What surprised me was what turned out to be my favorite color choice for the background paper.
I stepped out of my usual by using the Misty Moonlight pattern from the Harvest Meadow 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper, a contrasting color instead of a color of the same hue. Then, I turned it over to apply Stampin’ Seal and saw the Bumblebee pattern. Hello, Comfort Zone. 🙂 I also liked the blue and found it difficult to choose between the two. The solution? Make one of each!
The Bumblebee is pretty too. Either in my mailbox would put a smile on my face. You already know, the blue background paper is my favorite. I hope to remember to try a contrasting color more often. Which of my Stampin’ Up! Pretty Pumpkins cards do you prefer?
The pumpkins were colored with Stampin’ Blends (alcohol markers). I used Calypso Coral and Cajun Craze to blend together for both shading and highlighting. The final results are remarkable for even those like me without any training.
A strip of the 3/8″ Diamond Weave Ribbon from the July-December 2021 Stampin’ Up! Mini Catalog created a nice border to cover the otherwise blunt edge of the background paper.

I really like the pretty blue! It looks richer!
I agree!
I love the blue which is odd for me since yellow is my very favorite color!
Surprised me too!
I like both of the color combinations. Autumn is my favorite season!
Thank you! Love the colors of fall. In the north, it feels like God’s reward before the long winter months. 🙂
