You’ve most likely have heard of the Popping Pastels Technique. Now, I’m going to walk you through how to do the Pulling Pastels Technique with the Soft Pastels Assortment and Stampin’ Up! Wild Roses Stamp Set.
I prefer to use the direct-to-paper method to apply my first color of Soft Pastels Assortment. The Coastal Cabana pastels stick is being rubbed across the Basic Black Cardstock.
Next, I rubbed the pastels into the cardstock with a Blending Brush. I found a circular motion to be more effective in rubbing the color into the cardstock instead of a back and forth motion.
And, rub in with the same Blending Brush.
Finally, add Daffodil Delight and blend it in. I used the same Blending Brush for all three colors.
The next step is to ink the Wild Roses Stamp with VersaMark Pad ink.
I find it easiest to leave the stamp rubber side up and placing the cardstock on it. Place a piece of paper over the entire piece of cardstock so you can press and rub over the entire surface.
Wait for the “wow” as you remove the cardstock. The VersaMark Pad ink pulled off the pastels.
Here’s my finished Wild Roses card. Isn’t it mighty fine?!
