. . . not a whopper of a lie, but instead Strawberry Milkshake Whoppers. When I spotted the pretty pink malted milk balls in the candy aisle, it was the start of a Valentine candy project for my 3rd week of Valentine Love projects.
A pretty heart from the Hearts a Flutter stamp set was die-cut with the coordinating Hearts of Flutter Framelits Dies for a gorgeous tag. Then it all quickly was put aside when I added a Designer Builder Brad to the Basic Gray/Basic Black 1-1/4" Two-Tone Ribbon bow from the 2013 Stampin' Up! Spring Catalog.
Isn't that something? Now you can see why adding a tag, regardless of how pretty, would have taken away from the Valentine candy project. Sometimes you simply have to know when to stop.
The Basic Gray/Basic Black Two-Tone Ribbon is a beautiful contrast to the soft pink of the candy. The Two-Tone Ribbon ties easily and beautifully. Then when I added the Designer Builder Brad . . .
Instead of trying to poke the brad prongs through the ribbon, or spreading them around the big knot, I left them folded down and used Mini Glue Dots to adhere the brad.
Did you see what is in the center of the Designer Builder Brad? First, perhaps I should explain that you fill the brad with your choice of stamped image or paper. Designer Series Paper is a popular choice. Here is a close-up view to be sure you do not miss it. It tickles me with a touch of sass in the middle of all the class!
How fun! The lips are just one of the 56 images in the Itty Bitties stamp set. The truth is, I earned the stamp set for free. I never turn down or grumble about free, but I knew it was one I would have never purchased. So glad to have it now!
Not only do the images fit so well into the center of the Designer Builder Brad, they are a great fit for the small Soda Pop Tops too. You'll be seeing more now that the joy has been unearthed.
It gets even better, you probably already own the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack. They have been around for awhile. A nice little set of punches. The lips punched out perfectly to fit the center of the Designer Builder Brad with the circle punch from the set.
The brads come with clear bubbles to place over top. That explains the little bit of shine you are seeing in the close up photo. A nice touch for a polished, finished look. All the little touches come together for an attractive Valentine treat project.
Speaking of a finished look, do you recognize the Gusseted Cellophane Bags carried over from the 2012 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog? Do you remember them being this short? They were not and still are not. Until Shelly gets ahold of them.
Liking the width but not the length, with my Tabletop Cutter, it was easy to customize the length to fit your packaging needs.
The Tabletop Paper Cutter cuts through them like butter for a nice, clean edge.
With my customize size cellophane bag, it looks full and not like someone skimped on filling it up.
With the Stampin' Up! Itty Bitties stamp set and the Stampin' Up! Designer Builder Brads, you could easily adapt this idea to virtually any occasion you can think of!
