Looking at the Stampin’ Up! accessories in this week’s Weekly Deals (1-14-14 thru 1-20-14), I thought how pretty the Neutrals Core’dinations Card Stock and Alphabet Press Embossing Folder would go well together.

Using the Sanding Block to make the embossed Core’dinations Card Stock looked aged and distressed, it looked like it was meant to be paired with the Soho Subway Designer Series Paper. And a swirly, fru-fru font would not do. The greeting needed to be bold and masculine, if possible. The Amazing Family Stamp Set was a great fit. But, the flash of brilliance 🙂 was in pairing it with another font that was without any flair. The “thinking of you” is from the most popular Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set.
Tying it all together so the Basic Black Chevron Ribbon looked like it belonged, was the Basic Black Card Stock used for the base of the card and Basic Black Classic Stampin’ Pad ink for the “thinking of you”. With “FRIEND” stamped with Early Espresso Classic Stampin’ Pad ink was what really made the two colors work together for this handmade masculine card.
